Mati Melchior is an independent Physical AI Safety researcher based in Israel.

He writes about the gap between robot intelligence and robot safety infrastructure — the standards (IEC 61508, ISO 13849), the economics of certification, and the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 that takes effect in January 2027.
